how do people find holiday jobs at cambridge?

hi all,

i'm an undergraduate offer holder and have some serious financial concerns about going to cambridge. my only option to afford it is to find a job during the time off, but i'm not sure about the logistics of it. how do you find a job for the 6 weeks off and then leave? how long do you spend looking for a job in term time? what sorts of jobs would be available? would employers want to hire you knowing you're not there to stay (particularly when the uni holiday doesn't match seasonal job offers)?
Got this moved to the Cambridge forum, hopefully should get answers here

Most students don't try to get work in the Christmas or Easter breaks because they have too much academic work to do. However, the summer break is much longer than 6 weeks, and aligns with all sorts of seasonal jobs, as well as internship-type opportunities. There are all sorts of ways to find jobs, but one of the first questions is do you want to work in Cam (and have you got accommodation) or are you planning on returning home?
