how do you cambridge students find work in their weeks off? - offer holder concerns

hi all,

i'm an undergraduate offer holder and have some serious financial concerns about going to cambridge. my only option to afford it is to find a job during the time off, but i'm not sure about the logistics of it. how do you find a job for the 6 weeks off and then leave? how long do you spend looking for a job in term time? what sorts of jobs would be available? would employers want to hire you knowing you're not there to stay (particularly when the uni holiday doesn't match seasonal job offers)?

Cambridge has much better financial support than pretty much any other university, and longer vacations to earn, so the financial pressure is lighter (unless you are an overseas student paying full fees). The summer vacation is the one to look for work in, because Christmas and Easter you will have work/revision to do, but that's fine, there are lots of opportunities - just engage early with the career office, keep an eye out for departmental notices etc.
