✨ GYG of a wannabe law student - Y13 music edition! 🎶🎻

Hello everyone!

This is my official motivation to lock in for music coursework.

I'm in Y13 doing physics, maths, further maths, music and an EPQ, which is lots of fun but intense sometimes for someone with zero time-management. :woo:

I want to study Law at uni this autumn, and my firm choice requires A*A*AA (*screams*). The biggest source of all my life's stress and suffering is getting that A in music. Composition is what I'm struggling the most with at the moment because the workload seems so daunting. By April, I will be done with 60% of my A level, so my main goal is to secure an A* in that! :banana2:

This blog will be focused on my composition and practice for the performance component, but might also stray into some of the STEM or EPQ stuff.

If you're reading this, thank you for the support!! :suith:

Edit - my music coursework is over! Thank you so so much to everyone who provided encouragement and support on here (as well as excellent advice). This gyg is going to be mega focused on physics and further maths now : )

The plan for today:

1.

Finish the B section of my composition (including orchestration)

2.

Practice my modern piece (the LH jumps)

3.

Revise taylor series (using PMT and past paper Qs)

4.

Practice 2nd order non-homogenous differential equation questions

5.

Revise electromagnetic induction (PMT Qs)

Managed to get all of this done except 3. Still don’t understand Taylor series as a method of differentiation : /
I practised all my pieces today. Think I’m getting there with the LH jumps in one of my pieces! I need to do some physics and finish off further stats hw, and that’ll be me done for today : )
Worked on composition today and I think I’ve got a better idea of the structure of my piece, but it’s still an issue and the deadline is looming closer and closer.

Keeping on top of the differential equations chapter so far!

Going to do some practice and call it a day.

Omg that’s lovely!! I applied to Churchill. But ik Selywn, Corpus, St John’s etc have also been giving out A*A*AA offers (yay!).
So far today I’ve practised my pieces quite a lot, but I would also like to do some work on my composition later on.

Didn’t get much further maths done (I fell asleep, yay!).

I revised Turning Points in physics : )
(Didn’t post yesterday as I was out of school)

Today, I’ve revised differential equations and caught up on some further stats work. I plan on spending the evening revising electromagnetic induction and practising my pieces.

Welp, no electromagnetic induction has been studied (test tomorrow, yay!) but I got a lot of practice done so I’m happy-ish
Yesterday, I may or may not have been destroyed by the electromagnetic induction test (rip). However, the pieces for my performance have improved massively.

Welcome to gyg - may you achieve all your goals xx
Music coursework sounds like a lot I cant imagine the workload in a level 😭 (I only did it for gcse)

Tagging others @study23! (Also applied to cambridge) @halfharry @Geo Lover 7 @DerDracologe @Maximum-tragedy @always-anxious

I’m also churchill!!! Medicine though. I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere else on TSR

Hi @nwar

It is impressive to see how focus and motivated you are, and don't worry about falling asleep, we all accidently do it!

Good luck with everything and I hope that it all goes well! 😄

Aw thank you! I don’t think the A level’s bad, I’m just so bad at composition 😭
