A-level choices -please help

Hi, I'm trying to figure out my a-level choices as I am currently in year 11.
I am deciding between maths, chemistry, biology, geography, and maybe psychology. I initially wanted to go into dentistry but I thought if didnt get the grades i can still go into environmental science.
should i do just maths chem and bio to focus on my grades and boost them up for dental school requirements;
or do geography or psychology along with those as my forth choice to act as back up (or practice for essay writing for uni)?
if so would you recommend geography or psychology?
Thank you.

If you want to still keep your options open for dentistry and environmental science, I suggest that you take Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Geography. Geography is far more relevant to environmental science than psychology. Just remember to revise for your UCAT as well! 😊

For Dent/Med and related subjects, pick Chem and Bio - plus another subject that you will enjoy studying, and where you feel confident of a high grade. Don't worry about what you think 'looks good' or is 'relevant'.

For Env Science you do not necessarily need A level Geog - as an example, Birmingham just want '1 science' from 'Biology/Chemistry/Computing/Electronics/Environmental Studies/Further Maths/Geography/Geology/Human Biology/ Maths/ Physics/ Psychology/Statistics', and Portsmouth wants '32 points from a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science/Studies, Geography, Geology, Mathematics or Physics)'.

And btw, no Uni course requires 4 A levels, and taking 4 gives you no advantage - stick to 3.

i see, thank you for the information! i did do some research about environmental science and saw the same thing- i suppose taking it as an extra might not help much except leaving me overwhelmed with the amount of content (i've heard) is in the syllabus.. i've always struggled with essay based subject so geography may not be a good choice after all. i was just wondering because everyone says its better to take four and drop a subject at the end of year 12 to keep options open. anyways, thanks a lot!
