Wrong point of entry on ucas application

I've sent off my UCAS applications and a few unis have got back to me, but I accidentally picked the wrong point of entry for my course (first year instead of foundation year. Would it be best to substitute my choices on my application to the correct year, or to wait for all the unis to come back to me and contact them about it?

Have the unis which have got back to you made conditional offers, or have they been rejections? If they've been conditional offers, do you feel that the offer requirements are achievable? If so, then perhaps let the offers stand.

If you feel that the offer conditions are a bit of a stretch, then contact the remaining unis and ask them to change the entry year.

(Note that you can't use the "substitute" feature in UCAS Hub to fix this, as it doesn't allow you to switch to a different course at the same uni. For that, you need to contact the unis themselves.

Had one out of the 5 get back to me, and they said yes. Although I've been out of education for about ~4 years now, so I feel like jumping in on year 1 of a foundation course would be kinda risky?

Is there a Year 0 for each of the courses/Unis you have chosen?

Ah, I was focusing on the difference in entry requirements between year 0 (foundation entry) and year 1 (standard entry).

I can understand the nervousness around restarting your education, and wanting to ease into it with a foundation year. However, are you sure it's worth the time and expense? If you are, then contacting the unis and asking them to consider you for year 0 instead would be fine.

Note, however, that year 1 is often not that bad anyway (depending on the course / uni), as students will have different educational backgrounds and will have studied different A levels / BTECs / whatever. So universities are often trying not bring everyone up to a common standard. The marks in year 1 typically don't count towards your degree anyway (you just need to get at least 40% in each module).

Yep, I somehow selected the wrong start for 3/5 of them
