gcse geography or history???

i cant decide between history and geo. I'm taking triple science and higher maths and hopefully psychology. I'm good at essay writing, but apparently geo is way easier, and it has the best grade average in my school?? also, im probably gonna go for a career in either law or psychology.

person who did both here. most people find history harder, but most would also tell you it's more interesting too. i myself would lean toward picking history, as i found it more interesting myself and i performed better in it, but ultimately it should be more up to what you're interested in.

If you’re set on doing a specific a level check if it recommends doing either for gcse. Also check what topics your school does (schools choose which) and see if they look interesting and if there are resources online for it. I didn’t do that and my sch did Richard and John for history which was so boring and had nothing online which made it a STRUGGLE
Many at my school chose Geography since they thought it was easier. I chose it too but mainly because it helped with Triple Science. In a way, there are some topics you can study together in Geography and Science. It's not too common but can help you understand either subject better. I did well in Geography and History (usually get 97%-100% on each one) before GCSEs. However, when the first mocks came, many struggled in Geography and lots exceeded in History. I think it just depends on how you revise though because I mainly did practice questions and got 90%. History is a lot more interesting though! It just depends on the person; my cousins did History and they did it because it was easier but one of them ended up failing it anyways so was it really that much easier? I have read that Geography is a nice GCSE or A-Level to have as it makes you seem a more well-rounded person to employers as they teach various subject in Geography. I think Geography somewhat implements some laws when we were studying it. For example, there were no law when someone works in the informal sector but there are if you work in the formal sector- maybe not the best example but hopefully it gets the point across. = If you're good at Maths, English and Science, then Geography should be the subject for you! If you excel in English or are good at writing essays (like you said), you should pick History!

Sorry for the waffling; hope something I said helped somewhat! Good luck!

History. Trust me. It’s the easiest 9 I ever got, it’s just memorising evidence and linking it to the question. The easiest subject I’ve done by far.
Geography is really good and quite easy. I agree with the above about how it can link to science but it also still has some writing. If I were you I would check a past paper to see the question types because sometimes that can influence how well you do. Good luck!
For me, History all day. More interesting content, good exam format. I found Geography SOOOOO dull, and the exams were a lot of woffle and common sense. I could not recommend picking history more!

You don't have to do either of them ...

If you want to do law, history is better. But it also depends on what do you enjoy more. As you said, you're good at essay writing, I don't think it will be very hard for you to do either.
