Urgent ucas offer question?

Hi,

I have got a really good offer from Uni of Nottingham for law, who want BB in my remaining subjects as I undertook a language a level in year 12, got an A*.
If I was to put Nottingham as my substitute and say firm another uni who want AA. Would the BB offer still count or is that only if I firm Uni of Nottingham? on the offer it doesn't mention anything like this so I assume BB offer stays even if I put it as my 'safe' option

You are right.
Some unis ggive 2 offer conditions, requiring lower grades if firm. But they need to spell it out explicitly.
In your case there is nothing on this so it is a standard offer for firm and insurance.

Both Birmingham and Nottingham are good. You won't be wrong giving away one for the other in terms of prestigious.
You need not decide until June so I suggest you follow your mind and choose the one you like, by looking into their course structures, going to the open days or offer holder days before deciding.

Yeah true, also if my offers are AA/BB, I could just spend most of my time on my 2 strongest subjects, as what I get in my least good subject wouldn't matter one bit right?

BB is your Nottingham offer, how about others? They require two subjects only? You are right if so.
How do you find Nottingham? Do you like it?

I haven’t heard back from university of birmingham but i emailed them and they said the offer will be AA, I am confident i’ll get the offer as i have strong GCSEs as well. Nottingham gave me a contextual so hence why the requirements are BB, but I’m not sure i’ll get one from UoB

I like Nottingham, their teaching style/campus/modules are really attractive to me. However I currently live in Birmingham, have a job here, all my friends are planning on staying here as well etc. Going to Nottingham and living out there would be hard if i’m completely honest. But i guess i’ll wait till offer-holder day and check it out. Very confused at the moment

You have very strong ties with Birmingham. If I were you I would firm Birmingham and insure Nottingham.

I didn't look at the course structures of the two unis but I guess they don't differ too much? Birmingham will not be inferior to Nottingham and will suit you equally.

So don't think too much now and concentrate your effort in two subjects. Good Luck!
