You'd really struggle to get into dentistry without A-Level chemistry... just a heads-up!

No because you need chemistry and most dental schools require a 6 in all sciences…

As above, probably not and you should consider resitting your gcses. It is also important that you take a-level chemistry, as most if not all dentistry schools require this. Even if your gcse grades were enough, how well are you really going to do in your a-levels? Without the solid building blocks provided by strong gcse grades, your A-level performance may turn out sub-optimal, and for a course like dentistry where you need minimum A's, this won't be enough. If I were you, I'd be asking my school to resit the entire year, or alternatively, be thinking of a different career altogether. Best of luck.

Hi there, if you had another science chemistry or even psychology then maybe. But I think you should have atleast really high GCSEs to cancel out your a level choices because without two sciences it will be difficult due to the limited number of schools. If you don’t mind, I know medicine has more range?

You need higher gcse grades for medicine, at least a 6 in the sciences so it is probably out of the question. You also need chemistry for medicine more than biology, chemistry is required while biology technically isn't.

Actually that is not true, the person may also be able to enter through contextual circumstances and I know people with similar grades who have applied successfully to medicine, you shouldn’t say to others directly ‘no’ when other options may be available to them.

This person is not getting into medicine, they aren't even thinking of applying to medicine to start with. Adding extra layers which may or may not be there defeats the point, we are working with the information we are given. Just because it isn't impossible doesn't mean it is probable by any definition of the word.

‘BBC including B in Biology or Chemistry. Applicants with predicted or achieved grades of AAB or above (or points equivalent), or with A in Chemistry, are not eligible for this course.’
