for S6 i’m not sure what to pick im kind of unsure of what to do. im doing 5Higher in Admin, Business, Modern Studies and Apps maths and i’m predicted AAAAC. not sure what i want to in uni yet but probably not anything stem. (i am crash highering admin in S5 and predicted a 1) my school also makes you do 5 subjects
I want to pick AH Business and i’d also be crash higher in accounting and politics which are S6 only subjects in my school but politics is apparently like modern studies and accounting can have some crossover with business and admin so i feel like i wouldn’t be completely unfamiliar with the content
I could technically do H computing/chem but i feel like i would struggle as I got a D in N5 but i didn’t try a lot in S3/4 and im willing to try so much harder than I did then, i also didn’t even study for chemistry for more than an hour.
i also want to do higher human bio as everyone i’ve spoken to says its mostly memorisation and i am interested in taking it but also would this be too stressful if im taking all these highers and was also considering crashing History as it can be quite similar to modern studies but again i feel like crash highering 4 highers alongside an AH is way too much
can anyone give me any advice because im so lost on what to do

It all kind of just depends on what course you are going to apply to at uni, so you'd need to think about that first. Then, take that and do the AH/Highers needed for that course. History, for example, you'd take AH History, maybe English and another essay subject. Not that you'll apply to history but obviously you get what I mean.
Your school making you do 5 subjects is way over the top. I'm doing my s6 choices right now, I'm taking 3 subjects, doing a volunteering award which is one period a week and I get private study for the rest. Is there no way you could work around this with the school to stop yourself from taking extra subjects you don't need that will end up reducing your grade sin other subjects?

yeah i’m not really sure how i could get around 5 subjects other than sitting in the class up until post prelims and then dropping which a lot of S6s end up doing in my school or just stop attending a certain class

I'm applying to medicine in October and the subjects I'm picking are Advanced higher chemistry and biology, as well as Higher PE just for fun. It might sound unbelievable, but all I'll need in an offer from medicine school is 2 advanced highers at a B and one higher at a B, so school next year won't be too tough. So what will you end up doing? Will you take 5, then just drop them and only keep the important ones?

i couldn’t imagine doing two AH Sciences good luck you’ll smash it - what’s your UCAS choices?
i’m thinking i’m gonna try 5 and if I can’t handle it i’ll consider dropping

I'll apply to all the Scottish medical schools, excluding St. Andrews as you can only use 4 of your 5 choices to apply to medicine. So that would be Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen, from my first to last choice respectively. I'm not going to use my 5th choice as I've set myself on medicine. Do you have any ideas about your choices?
