Leicester Midwifery with Leadership 2025

I just received an interview from Leicester for their Midwifery course. Does anyone know why the interviews are three hours long?
Additionally, why it’s on campus as compared to the Nursing with Leadership course which is online?
Genuine curiosity 😅

My daughter is a first year Nursing (Child and Mental Health) student. She has her interview in the Robert Kilpatrick Building at the Royal Infirmary. Her interview was around 2/3 hours. They did individual interviews but also lots of joint interviews where they worked together, I remember she did a poster about herself. They also had the opportunity to look at the simulation suite and get involved. They then finished with a presentation. She loved the interview and received an offer the same day for both the courses she applied for there. Out of the other interviews she did (Nottingham/Derby/Northampton) all online she felt this was by far the best being in person as she got to meet others (many of who are on her course), more of a feel for the course itself, the tutors etc. She absolutely loves Leicester and it was an easy choice. She loves the style of learning and they often MDT (multi disciplinary team) work together where there is a mixture of nurses/midwives/medical students/physios etc which is a good way to get to understand each other's roles and every voice counts when it comes to patient care. I'm not sure why they are doing the nursing interviews online, my daughters was in November when she had hers so maybe it's moved online for later applications as there are less to interview now. Good luck in your interview.

Hi, If it’s not too much to ask, could you please let me know the types of questions they asked ?

It's against the forum guidelines to share details of interviews as it gives an unfair advantage to those who follow.

Hello 👋,

Due to the interview format being different for both courses, one does require for the applicant to be in person.

Also, the reason for it being 3 hours long is because it is for the interview itself and you might have the opportunity to have a campus tour and meet current students to ask any questions you may have!

I hope this was helpful ☺️

Thanks for the reply, though I already had the interview a while back, your reply will be good for any future potential candidates looking through here.
