Christmas contract @ M&S

I had a 8 hour contract @ M&S starting on 1st Dec and finishing on the 28th Dec - I don’t understand this basic salary they talk about - I worked 32 hours @ rate of £12 per hour which should be £384 - but my payslip for Dec shows £418 and they’ve deducted £83.60 on my January payslip as an adjustment - surely this isn’t right anc you should be paid for the hours they do !! Help !!

Ask whoever at M&S is responsible for your pay; is there a pay department or is it through HR?

Hi, I worked for M&S from June-December 2024. I was meant to have earned over a grand from my work in December however I only received £200. Since I didn’t work there anymore managers directed me to their support phone number 0345 304 7474. I phoned and they stated that the money had went to tax, however I haven’t reached the tax threshold so they directed me to HMRC. It might be that you’re similar to me and owed a tax rebate depending if you’ve hit the tax threshold or not.
