Will university of Nottingham reject me on the basis of my gcse grade 5 instead of 6

I have applied at the university for a degree in accounting finance and management. I’m worried that i might be rejected purely because of my gcse grades in maths. I have a 5 in maths but they require 6. I’m doing an access course in business as I’m a mature student so I’m not sure if I’ll have leniency at all in comparison to A level students.

When did you take GCSE maths?

You might get away with it as a mature student. How are you doing on your Access course?

They might be forgiving in that case. Normally it would be a straight rejection but mature students can get a bit of leeway. In retrospect you should have asked them about it before applying.
