I'm really not sure what I want to yet so I'm leaning more towards Uni because it gives me more time to think. Also I've sort of disregarded apprenticeships because if I decide I don't like it I've kinda narrowedy options right. That's why I thought uni was the best. Should I still reconsider apprenticeships even though if I'm not sure what my career is?

Hi I want to apply for a paramedic apprenticeship please. At this moment in time I am a graduate with a degree in Computer Networks and Technology (Digital Technology), Although I am considering a career switch, ideally I want to start an Apprenticeship as soon as possible, I have prepared by getting in touch with some Ambulance Service Trusts and Universities who offer any Apprenticeships although with Ambulance Service Trusts I have had zero luck contacting wise as I call them, email them and they don’t respond :frown:. Also I wanted to know I have English and Maths GCSEs I don’t have Science would I be able to do the Apprenticeship? Or How can I do it?

The following website explains one of the possible pathways - from a level 3 apprenticeship to paramedic:

You can proceed with applying for both apprenticeships and uni to keep your options open. Also, taking an apprenticeship doesn't stop you from going to uni if you later decide that the career sector you have entered on an apprenticeship is not for you.

Is anyone having any luck getting an apprenticeship after a levels? I got ABB in graphic design, history and english but cannot progress an application for the life of me - had one interview. I want a content creation or creative apprenticeship, and even though theres so many cannot even get a reply for the life of me? any tips or anyone in the same boat? All my friends look so happy at uni and im starting to get quite depressed here but i know uni doesn't guarantee you anything.

Can you get to any of the live events this week being held for National Apprenticeship Week? It will give you the chance to talk to potential employers face to face.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that student finance for a course at uni might be affected by the qualification you receive from an apprenticeship.

Have a read of the following thread and the links to the Prospects website. The reality is that to become a clinical psychologist you need a degree and then a masters and it is a very compeitive field. There are level 7 apprenticeships, but you would need a degree first:

You could search for alternatives such as counselling or occupational therapy apprenticeships:

I am looking to apply for an apprenticeship related to business, accounting and finance.
Currently taking a gap year after having completed my A Levels.
Haven't finished the process yet. Still applying to as many as possible.
Mainly doing job simulations on forage that's related to the courses I am interested in.
