Cambridge UG offer-holders' Cuppers competition: win prizes for you and your college!

Given there was some interest, let's try something very experimental!

At Cambridge, Cuppers is the name given to knockout sporting competitions between the different colleges. This will be more of a league, but we're stealing the name nonetheless!

If you're a 2025 Cambridge offer-holder, there'll be a series of challenges to complete between now and (provided this is popular enough) results day in August. Each offer-holder can compete in that month's challenge and score points for their college, and all participating users from the winning college will get a rep prize.

I'll also look into organising an overall college rep prize and also some prizes to reward individual participation.

The more people who take part with offers from their college, the more points that college scores, so please get your fellow offer-holders involved from your college too!

Each month a challenge will be posted in this thread and you'll have the rest of the month to complete it!

How do I sign up??
Everyone who wants to play will need to complete the following form, giving their TSR username and the college they hold an offer from: https://forms.office.com/r/T4hehvQktY

You only need to do this once, and your entry will be valid for the whole competition you can see if you've filled in the form by checking the Excel spreadsheet here: https://1drv.ms/x/c/8c716946ba810443/EdJRqxtfNwpGg93rI-5xGDsBR6zfwI4umPGjpBQ5hICM9Q?e=tYenOS

The first challenge will be posted below!

February challenge!

To get the competition underway, here's your February challenge.

Many 2026 applicants will be starting to think about their college choice this is a difficult decision for the uninitiated and they'll be looking to people who have done it beforehand to give advice.

Your task for February is to head over to this thread and give a post explaining which college you applied to and why (or why you made an open application).

Everyone who does this will score 10 game points for their college, with 25 further game points available for the best-quality reply (to be chosen by me or another TSR volunteer). (Of course if you were pooled, you'll be talking about applying to one college but scoring points for your new one such is life!)

Everyone who took part in this challenge from the winning college will receive a prize of 50 rep points!

The deadline is the end of February, with scoring and the next challenge in early March!
Quoting everyone (not a volunteer/established user) who posted in the offer-holders' thread here is your first college Cuppers challenge for February!

March challenge!

For your second challenge, you're asked to branch out of this forum and into Life Around Learning sections of the site, those bits that form part of our wider community and aren't directly related to studies.

Your task by the end of March is to create at least one thread and make at least 15 posts (including the OP of your thread) in any subsection of Chat, Debate and Current Affairs, Entertainment or Life and Style.

Please drop a link to the thread you make in here, and support one another's threads!

Please also make sure you've signed up using the Microsoft form in the OP to confirm the college you hold an offer from (if you haven't already last month!), as you'll score 15 points for making a thread and 25 further points for achieving the 15 posts. Posts made and threads created from the start of March will be counted.

Again there'll be a 50 rep prize for everyone who successfully participates this month from the winning college!
