MMU or London College of Fashion for Fashion Design

I have offers from Manchester Metropolitan and London College of Fashion for UG Fashion Design. Anyone got experience of LCF? Is it worth the extra cost of being in London? Is it more prestigious than MMU? Is it better to be at a purely fashion college and are industry connections better at LCF?

MMU every time

LCF trades off the reputation of CSM. And both aren’t interested in the majority of their students, especially international students. They just cram in more and more to make more money.

Wow!! Well done for getting accepted by two of the best places in the UK

Fashion Industry In UK target = London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. MMU is good, but it is not on the same level. LCF graduates dominates the UK fashion sector...far more so that Central Saint Martins or any other university! LCF will open doors internationally too!

Best Areas in London for Fashion Design?

1) Portobello Road Area,
2) Marble Arch/Bond Street Area,
3) Camden Town Area,
4) Savile Row Area,
and
5) Knightsbridge Area.

These are the areas that you need to do part-time work, internships Haute Couture Ateliers / Harrods - portfolio for when you apply for graduate training schemes.

Good luck!!

Hope this help you decide where to go and study for a career in fashion.

are they paying you?
LCF doesn't take part in graduate fashion week or london fashion week and their courses have huge (20% or higher) unemployment rates after graduating and over 10% don't even get past the first year

The 5 locations you've listed are no where near the LCF campus

The 5 locations are listed, as they are the areas where it is possible to get good work experience. i have known people who went to LCF who have gone on to do very well. However, they planned what they wanted to achieve and where they wanted to go for their career. One did a part-time job in costume design for a theatre and that opened doors for them.
