Advice for year 10 GCSE art and design lessons

Any tips on how to encourage more engagement from my year 10s? They seem there are about 5 or more in my class who cannot engage in silent working or get it into their heads that they should have a page or two finished pages worth of work by the end of the lesson? I have 8 in intervention already and I have a feeling I might gain more students after half-term, some of my year 10s really do worry me with their low engagement and this is a situation in all subjects including mine?
We have created all new folders with more ways to communicate encouragement but now I'm looking for tips to encourage them, as it will help me to push my to engage with the work more?!
My teacher used to put on calming music e.g. Lofi - this might help to discourage non-art related talking, or might not, depending on who you've got

A reminder of the weight of component 1, it always got me and my friends stressed in year 11 that our component 1 was worth 60% of our final art grade and we completed the vast majority of it in year 10 when we weren't paying that much attention. It was very disheartening at times to know that, if you scored low on your component 1, there was only so much you could do to make up for it in the exam. It makes the stakes so much higher in year 11 to do poorly in year 10--the less work you do in year 10, the more work you'll have to do in the midst of your exams
