A level choices

I'm im year 11 right now and i am thinking about my a level choices. I will be going college and doing 4 a levels plus an epq. My first 3 a levels are chem, bio and physics but I am unsure about the 4th one. I am doing 4 as I want to medicine in uni and also to do epq in my college you need to do 4 a levels. I am unsure about maths as it is not my strongest, although i will get A* in GCSE. I hate geography and english but curious about psychology. Any help?

I would not recommend doing physics without maths, especially if you didn't do the best at GCSE. A-Level is a lot better than GCSE for maths though, and the step up in difficulty isn't too bad.

Also, I'm not entirely sure how true it is, but conventional wisdom would suggest maths is preferred by Oxbridge and Co. for medicine.

To apply to most medical schools you have to do biology, chemistry and get a decent score on the UCAT or GAMSAT (tests you have to do to get into med school). I would pick subjects you are confident in but also that you like, as you will have to do them for 2 years, so doing a subject that you hate will only make it harder to learn and revise as you will not enjoy it. If you find psychology interesting then I would say to do it, as it would also be helpful for some parts of med school. From what I have seen of friends who do maths A-level it can be quite difficult and complicated, so I would do maths if you really like it but if you hate maths, do not do it as it will be a drag for the whole two years.

And - no-one needs 4 A levels and an EPQ.
