Can I get a second student loan

Ok I have a honours degree- I received full
Time funding for 3 yrs, I still did not complete my 3rd year due to dropping out - I eventually did open UNI to get my full degree and had to apply for part time funding to do it.

After completing my degree I went on to do a masters degree I got full time funding and was paid the first quarter I then dropped out and never completed

I am now looking at a career change either social work or teaching

Am I able to get a second student loan for this either full time or part time ?

Hi Anisablue,

Just to confirm, do you hold a qualification and if so, what level are these? Thanks, Jason

Thank you. There are some exception courses that attract either full funding or maintenance loan and grants (without the fees), depending on the course you study.

That means the courses in the link below are exempt from previous study rules.

Thanks, Jason

Hi Anisablue,

Yes, if you were to do a PGCE course and don't hold a QTS: Qualified Teacher Status, then this would be exempt from previous study rules. Thanks, Jason

For Social Work, this attracts maintenance loan (and any grants), but doesn't attract tuition fee funding. Thanks, Jason
