Warwick, Durham, or Leeds English Lit

I honestly really don't care about the campus life—I'm a hobit—and the courses all seem interesting to me tbh. Which would you say is the most prestigious/well regarded for lit? Unless the gap is really small, I'm going for the one that is regarded as the best in terms of academics.

Also, in a slight hurry because I have to reply to some unis in HK as well.

I think that Durham is probably more holistically highly regarded but it really depends on what area of literature you are interested in!
They are definitely more historical and traditional literature. If you want more modern literature, Warwick is more theoretical and Leeds is more interdisciplinary... It kind of depends on what area of literature you are more interested in... they are all highly regarded unis!

As above you need to look at the detail of each course - they will not be exactly the same and it doesn't matter how 'prestigious' you think the Uni is (or what you think that word means) if you dont actually like / enjoy what you are studying it'll be a miserable 3 years. Look at the optional units available in all years of each course - what you would choose if you went there.

I hope this post is still active. For creative writing, which is the best? Thanks.

Hey dddddddddddd3, 👋

The University of Sheffield is great for creative writing. We have some amazingly knowledgable creative writing staff, a great centre for research in creative writing, exciting and engaging module options, as well as a creative writing journal called The Sheffield Review. ✒️

I took creative writing modules at undergraduate level and during my master's and they were all so well structured and so useful to aid my own writing. My friend enjoyed it at MA so much she is now doing her PhD in Creative Writing. ✏️

Please let me know if you have any questions about studying creative writing at the University of Sheffield and I would be more than happy to help! 😄

All the best,
Phoebe 👋
