Proof of Income for Renting during PGCE?

So I'm in my final year bachelors for computer science. I have an offer to start a PGCE for secondary computing in September. This comes with a busary or £29k or a scholarship of £31k depending on my final degree grade.
Does anyone know if this money has any form of 'proof of income' when it comes to renting somewhere to live? My student house contract ends in July and I have no option to live with my parents due to unfortunate family circumstances.
Any advice is greatly appreciated because it is looking like I may be homeless when my current contract ends. Thanks.
