Lancaster university degree classification

Hi im currently in my 3rd year studying criminology and criminal justice at blackpool but it is a lancaster uni degree for my foundation degree (4&5) I was awarded a commendation. Will this be taken into account for my final award. My overall scores for 1st 2 modules were 71% and 75.5%. 2 modules to go amd my dissertation. I'm aiming for a 2:1 just wandered if it is doable?

According to paragraph 4 of section 2A in Lancaster's Regional Teaching Partnership Assessment Regulations 2024-25, the commendation you received for your Foundation Degree is not taken into account:

"Bachelors one year top-up Honours degrees to the Foundation degree comprise learning at level 6 with 120 credits of assessment. Level 6 comprises all credit upon which final classification of
awards is determined."

As you're probably aware, Lancaster specify their degree classifications based on your "aggregation score", out of 24. From paragraph 7 within section 2F:

"Where the mean overall aggregation score falls within one of the following ranges, the examining bodies will recommend the award stated:
17.5 to 24.0 first class honours
14.5 to 17.0 upper second class honours
11.5 to 14.0 lower second class honours
9.0 to 11.0 third class honours
0.0 to 8.0 fail"

To map a percentage to an aggregation score we need to refer to Table B at the end of section 2D. Assuming the two modules you've done so far are equally weighted, then your average percentage is 73.25% right now, which maps to a aggregation score (according to Table B) of 18.9. So your target of a 2:1 is certainly achievable, given that you're currently in "first" territory.
