Thinking of transferring to Derby Uni

Hi,
I'm currently in my first year at Bangor uni studying zoology. I like the course but honestly hate the uni/city, and also hate being so far from home as I haven't really made any friends here so its quite lonely.
I have been considering transferring to Derby for my second year as its close to home so would be able to commute, the course looks decent and so does the campus but i've heard lots of people saying its kinda bad so unsure whether that would be the right decision.
They other choice would be Nottingham as its would only be a slightly longer commute, however it is a russel group and i only achieved BCC at a-level so i dont think i would have even a chance of getting in.
Any advice would be appreciated thank you

I don't know about the courses but I do know the admissions team at Derby, and I'm sure at Nottingham as well would love to hear from you and help you talk through your options either on the phone or via email.

It's just generally ranked quite low, but I suppose that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad as ranking aren't everything. I have heard Nottingham is much better for nightlife, but if you're not bothered about that like i'm not its probably fine

Yes ,I know the ranking and the reviews are not great .i am going for open day on 22 of feb to derby .I am not into nightlife so that’s not a priority for me 😃..

Nottingham is actually very open to receiving candidates with lower a-level results as long as they have a good personal statement and course content matched with 90%-100% similarity

That’s good to know thanks, my current course seems pretty similar and have been getting firsts in a lot of my assignments so that should help
