Prom

Hi,
I know this is quite vain and shallow to ask however I'm worried about it so any advice is very welcome.
I have prom coming up and my friend told me she was going in a light green dress for it a while ago. I'm planning to go with my boyfriend who's favourite colour is green so I chose emerald green as it's his favourite colour yes, but also because I love the colour, think it suits me and it's just amazing and I'm happy with it. However recently I found out through my boyfriend that she's going for the exact same colour and he mentioned to her what colour I wanted and she said the exact same thing to him. So now I'm not sure what to do because I don't want to steal her spotlight or anything like that as technically she chose the colour first in a way. I know I would discuss it with her but even if she said it was ok I think I'd feel too bad for stepping on her toes or stealing her light.
Any advice is welcome, I know it's quite shallow and there's not much advice to be given but advice is definitely wanted lol.

Wear whatever colour you want. I'm sure there will be other emerald green dresses there, and blue and red and pink and black. Not everyone is going to coordinate so they are all different. Have a great time!
