MPharm Pharmacy Interviews - when will I hear back?

Hi! I applied to Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle, Queen's Belfast, and Aston. I've gotten an interview invite from Aston but have not heard back from the other 4. I submitted my applications around the third week of January so it's been about 3 weeks now, is this normal and should I be worried? When will I hear back from them?

Hi I’ve applied to Manchester as well and got and interview invite about 4 weeks later

I was offered an interview from manchester within 3 days of submitting my application and Newcastle within about 2 weeks, I have only just head back from Sheffield now. However I submitted in December so there may have been less to sort through back then in comparison to now. Honestly I would try not to stress about it too much, treat no news as good news right now as you haven't been rejected.

Mine is the afternoon but I feel the same. It doesn't help that it's the first year so we have no idea whatsoever. Have you had any other interviews yet?

Hey what was your GCSEs and a levels.? Also did your school have as levels do decide your predicted grades if not what was it??
I want to apply for pharmacy at Sheffield but currently I haven’t got decent grades on my Jan mocks and I have official as exams but I don’t know if they are a deciding factor

Hey, my gcses were 9s and a few 8s and I'm predicted A*AA. But honestly as long as you are predicted the requirements then you should be in with a good chance. Some other people I talked to at interviews were predicted AAB/ABB and had still received interviews from most of their choices.
My school don't do AS but our predicted grades were based on our end of year mocks. I didn't do the best in them to be honest, I got ABC but talk to your teachers and see what they think is realistic for you, most of the time they're pretty flexible in predicting what you need and will often predict 1-2 grades above your mock grade.
Let me know if there's anything else you want to know, I'm happy to help as best as I can

I've only had 1 in person and that was UCLAN which sounds like a pretty similar structure to Sheffield's. I actually found it easier in person as you can judge the interviewer's reactions to things haha

Thank so much. I got 776655552 at GCSEs bad I know. I was wondering why did your teachers Predict you an A star and A since you got ABC in your may/June mocks if I haven’t mistaken. So they increases your grade up by one and they rounded your C to an A cuz of the others?

For me well in term 1 I got a D term 2 I got a B then term 3 which is mock that was a C 3 percent away from a B term 4? And then As level I don’t know if AS is a deciding factor. Honestly I want 3As.

Also do you have any suggestion I am resitting my gcse English language I got a 5 as I need a 6 because looks like you got decent grades!!!

lucky, you'll have an idea about how it will go like. I have no experience in face to face interviews at all. Was your interview at UCLAN an MMI too?

So I got an A in maths and B in further maths but I was high in the boundary for both so was predicted A* and A. The C was in chemistry but I just had a really bad day and messed up the paper completely. My teachers decided that it wasn't reflective of my performance throughout the year where I had consistently been getting A's with a few B's so they pretty much disregarded the mock and predicted me an A. I was lucky that I had understanding teachers who recognised this, which is why I said it's important to talk to them.

I got an 8 in English Language but I studied eduqas which I know isn't a common exam board but my biggest tip would be to read the examiners reports as you can see exactly what they're looking for and can then apply this to your answers.

It was panel but the actual topics they asked about were listed in the same way with like motivations and some ethical questions

wow your teachers were very nice but not everyone is like that. I got a B in my y12 mocks for chem and I asked my teacher to change it to an A but he didn't even though I did get a few As and Bs throughout the year, even the last test that we did before leaving year 12 I got an A😭. None of my teachers are nice at all

No don't loose hope, one of my teachers, after a bit convincing, changed my B into an A for psych. Nearly all teachers do change it but it's just this one teacher that I had, you just need to be convincing. My main mocks of y12 were in Feb but idk if they were the official AS exams or not, they used these grades for our predictions and then y13 mocks for our final prediction. You still have y13 to change your grades so dw

So to clarify you had no end of year mocks like as to determine this. Quite strange as I have official as exams at may. Well I do have module test and topic test got Bs and one A but this Jan mock I got D is killing me 😭.

Also i don’t have time for yr 13 mocks as I am going to apply early as I am gonna be an early applicant so my deadline is October!!

We did have end of topic test and so one after the mocks but our main tests were the mocks in Feb, also our mocks in y13 were in September so it have a chance to any early applicants to still change their predicted before they had to send off their applications. If you have official exams in may then that means that you can change your predicted and do better on these test so I guess forget about that D and make sure to do better on the May exams
