Can I get a 2.1?

My uni do 40% 2nd year and 60% 3rd year
They also get rid of the lowest grade overall

I got a low 2.2 in my first module for 2nd year - 52%
And will probably get about 52% on another unless I get a high grade on my next assignment
Other modules I’m guessing I with get about 58% on one and hoping for about 65% on another
Still have 2 other modules that I have done any assignments for yet!!

However I Don’t know if I can achieve a 2.1 with these grades please can anyone give me advise on how to boost my greats for my next assignments and lmk if it’s possible to achieve a 2.1? what would I need in 3rd year etc?

Unlikely, but possible. See if you can score 70+ in the next assignments and your chances will improve drastically

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out, and its great to hear you're consistently getting pass grades and want to improve! Trust me there will many students in the exact same boat as you so here are a couple of tips which helped me when I was trying to improve my grades:

1.

Use your lecturers - supporting you is what they're there for. Perhaps go through your assignment feedback and see if you can go to their office hour or book a meeting with them to ask them for tips on what you can do to improve. What characteristics do they like to see in 1st class assignments?

2.

Have your previous assignment next to you as you write your next one. Seeing the feedback in front of you as you write will allow you to directly act on it as you go and so helps to avoid falling into pitfalls.

3.

Keep up with your content as you go along. Don't leave it all to revision time/assignment time - make notes as you go, not just on the lecture content, but some of the other suggested reading and some more up to date articles from google scholar. Did you know you could filter by year? Perhaps there have been some more modern iterations of research concepts you've learnt about which you could draw on.

I hope this helps and best of luck 🙂

Hi there,

The best thing you can do is just try as hard as you can in every assignment. If you know you have tried hard and done everything you can do to get your best grade, you should be happy with yourself! Here are some of my tips for doing well in assignments and what I would suggest to do to get a higher grade:

1.

Use every formative feedback opportunity. Make sure you are using any opportunity you get to get some feedback on your work as this will help you to improve the most. if there is a chance to show your tutors your work, make sure you do this as this will help you improve!

1.

Follow the grading criteria closely. You could even print off the marking grid and highlight/tick when you have done things so that you know you have followed all of the criteria for the grade that you want.

1.

Try and complete your assignment in plenty of time so that you have lots of time to make changes/amend things if you need to before the deadline. You could also try and show your tutor and see if they have any suggestions so that you can improve it before you hand it in.

1.

If you have any questions, make sure you ask them straight away. Don't leave it too long as this way you will have the answers ready for when you start to write your assignment.

I hope some of this helps,
