Struggling with long distance relationship at uni

Me and my girlfriend are both first year uni students but at different unis. I’m finding it incredibly difficult not being with her and don’t know how I’ll get through the next few years. I feel like I’d do anything as long as it means I could be with her. Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated!
No point being 'with' your girlfriend if it leaves you with no prospects for the future. You must have both discussed your plans and that they involved uni, so you work around them; know each other's schedule, arrange times to get in touch, but make allowances for things getting busy and doing things spontaneously that means a cancellation. Make the most of the opportunities available to you; try new hobbies and sports, volunteer, do a charity event; after all, isn't that why you are there, for an education, some independence and being productive? Otherwise you could have sat at home and done an Open University course.

Clingy and co-dependent is not a good look.

It's completely understandable to feel overwhelmed with the distance at first, especially if your used to seeing your girlfriend on a regular basis. Although Surnia was a bit harsh they're not wrong when they say you need to adapt to university life and embrace it. Real love will prevail through all so don't waste your first year at uni stressing about a relationship when you should be enjoying it!! Arrange time to see each other when you're both free but don't take offence if shes busy, uni life is busy and hectic and its difficult to manage sometimes but was a routine is found all will be fine. It's nice to see someone longing for their partner but don't go overboard
