Unless you have some kind of special need and the official documentation to prove it, be aware that you could be placed in any of the uni accomdations, including a shared room - as they allocate randomly.

I currently am in packsaddle. Honestly it's pretty great. Cleaner, brighter, nicer kitchen, dishwasher. A hell of a lot nicer than Glasney. Wooden floor so a lot less chance of mold and easier to clean. If you like parties then someone's always hosting an open one every month or so. In the morning if ur in A Block sometimes you can hear the horses going up the road. Fire alarm tests at midday Wednesday instead of early morning that wakes u up. A lot of cupboards space! Good heater. 3/4 double bed. Great bathroom!!
Some downsides, if ur studying on Penryn Campus and live at Packsaddle you're gonna have to walk up the most hellish set of stairs to ever exist every time u wanna go up unless you walk the very long way around or take the bus a single stop. (I'm serious imagine the staircase from Kung Fu Panda 1 that's what it feels like). It's more expensive even for a smaller room. (My room is the smallest but I still pay more than my friend in Glasney who has a massive room). The extractor fans are 24/7 to prevent mold so of you have a smaller room and have sensitive ears you're gonna be hearing it constantly. Also the door automatically locks behind you so remember to always bring ur key card, almost everyone gets locked out the first couple weeks.
But anyways some stories, one guy fell out the 2nd story window while drunk because they took the lock off.
The fire alarm got set off twice and I said "oh my god what moron keeps setting it off," It was me, I was the moron who didn't realise their diffuser could set off a fire alarm.
We have this one massive rat that likes to scamper around late at night outside we've affectionately named Mr Bombastic.
Honestly all in all Packsaddle is decent. It's better than Glasney but ngl any accoms u pick are gonna have it's issues, cuz in the end uni accoms are uni accoms. Not to say Glasney is bad but it's just older. I think if I was to pick again id honestly still choose Packsaddle.

Not much we can add to the super detailed response from Anonymous #1, but to add Packsaddle and Glasney both have great bus links to Falmouth town, and Falmouth campus if you were studying there.
Another option in a similar area is The Sidings; it's a slightly longer walk from Penryn campus, and definitely worth considering alongside Glasney and Packsaddle.
