can i do radiography with health and social care diploma with no science A-Levels

i am currently in my first year of college studying health and social care diploma award with A-level psychology, could i still study diagnostic radiography with these subjects if so what universities take this offer or would i have to take an extra year by doing another course that is more linked with radiography as i currently don't do any science based a levels or maths.
Any information will help,
thank you.

check the Uni websites.
For example Leicester specify Pearson BTEC Nationals: DDM in Applied Science.
OR;
Pearson BTEC Diploma: DD with an A-level at grade B (Applied Science Diploma or A-level Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Human Biology).

Whereas Portsmouth will accept BTECs (Extended Diplomas) - DDM-DMM

Some unis accept psychology as a science for DR courses. Check UWE Bristol, Exeter, Hertfordshire, Plymouth, Portsmouth (psych considered), St George's, Salford and Sussex (no subject requirements listed). DR unis that don't specify the 'science' subject so worth emailing to find out: BCU, CCCU, Cumbria, LSBU and Teesside

The NHS course finder is the best tool to search for healthcare courses:

Is it the National Diploma you are taking for health and social care (i.e. equivalent to two A levels)?

yeah i do the national diploma course but most of the unis I've checked require an extended diploma course, but thank you so much for the University recommendations

If some of the unis don't specify your combination (1 A level and a national diploma), email them and ask if your qualifications meet the requirements. :smile:

Hello,

Just as a follow up, our BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography course requires 120 UCAS points. If this was A-Levels that would be BBB and this would need to include at least one science mandatory from physics, biology, human biology, chemistry, or psychology at grade B.

We would also require five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, all obtained in one sitting.

Compulsory subjects include English Language, Maths, and Science (covering all three areas: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics; or Combined Science).

Applicants with retakes will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

I hope this makes sense.
