Will studying politics over business studies help for Oxford

My school makes us take four A-Levels in lower sixth and then either continue all four or drop one for upper sixth, Im defo take maths and econ but im torn between politics and business, business is frankly easier and I really don’t want to be writing a ton of essays for politics even though I enjoy the content. Potentially wanting to go to Oxford (possibly PPE) what should I do although I know the answer is prettt obvious.

I would choose Politics. Generally, Politics is more of a facilitating subject for Russell Group unis than Business. Politics is also far more applicable specifically for PPE than business. Business is of "more limited usefulness" whereas Politics is classed as "useful". I study Political Science and if I had the chance to take Politics at A-Level I would have.

See more details on the 'facilitating subjects' classification here: http://repec.ioe.ac.uk/REPEc/pdf/qsswp1512.pdf. https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/03054985.2018.1409976#d1e114.

Politics.
BS is regarding by many Unis as a weak subject - and some will not actually accept BS and Economic together.

PS. The idea of 'facilitating subjects' was dumped by all RG Unis about 10 years ago.

At Oxford you would be writing three or four essays each fortnight. If you don't like essays, you may find Oxford uncongenial.
