Keele accomodations

Hey!! Are the accomodations for Keele uni any good as it’s mostly shared and expensive, BUT ALSO I’m a Muslim girl so i don’t think I would be comfortable sharing a bathroom (shower) with men( ini it’s not literally sharing) but u get what i mean, so I was wondering is it worth it? I would be my first year and all.

Salaam! Not familiar on Keele accommodation specifically, but it's pretty standard to have girls only accommodation options. I would say definitely message a female Keele student on unibuddy, as that's how I found out about specific universities

Hey, I lived on campus for my whole course at Keele. Do you guys still have the option to apply for girls only accommodation? In my first year, I was in an only girls block and shared the bathroom and kitchen with 24 other girls. It was one of the bedrooms with the washbasin option in Horwood. In my 2nd year, it was mixed but we had a girls only bathroom. In my final year, I was in a 4 bedroom flat in Barnes with all girls.

For cheap rent, its best to rent off campus. The on campus experience was fine though the kitchen got messy very quickly. It was very diverse set of girls so we had muslims and non-muslims living together. Our rooms were cleaned every 2 weeks and the kitchen and bathroom once a week. I would advise getting a shower robe and slippers as the bathrooms can be a bit of a walk from your bedroom. I had a washbasin in my room for 1st and 2nd year and that was very convenient if the bathroom were occupied. From memory, there was 2 showers in each floor and 2 toilets. Ofc, this could have changed if the uni did renovations so best check it out on an open or offer holder day.

There is the Islamic centre which is located in the Barnes halls of accommodation so you can go there for prayers. There is also the Islamic society and an Islamic chaplian - her name is Rukia. The society does a lot of events thoughout the year and the chaplain is very nice. So you will have no issue making friends with Muslims.

It should be on the application process, if you have already applied you are probably won’t get one if you haven’t selected it as an option

You should be able to go onto the Keele accommodation portal and go to prospective students and apply from there

If it happens may times it could have something to do with viruses etc but if you email the accomodation team they should be able to help you and send a link ( it happen to me without viruses and they sent a link)

Hi,
I’m a Muslim girl and I’ve got an unconditional offer so I’ll be moving there in looking to house share rather than accommodation with Muslim girls. Is anyone up for it?
