How many questions to get onto Isaac Physics SPC?

hey guys,
I am trying to get onto the SPC, currently i on around 478 questions (210 C1, 196 C2, 51 C3, and around 60 Further A / University questions but some may be included as a level). I have literally done all the questions I can do so im only left with the super hard ones. If i end up with around 550 questions done would this be enough to get in? How many questions did successful candidates from previous years do to get in?

Thanks

hello! i got in last year with around 550-600 questions (its hard to tell because of the overlaps) with 200 of those being C1. harder questions count more so if i were you from now on i would be focusing on C2 to university questions, but i think you're in a very good position! it does however also depend on competition within your school since only 1 person per school is allowed regardless of how many questions you do. there's a bunch of threads on here from previous years that also say how many questions everyone did if that helps as well. good luck!

Thank you very much, i'm the only person in my school who is properly doing the challenge. Also may I ask what happened when you were selected? Did you have to take a test because it said on the website "Students who apply may also be asked to complete an online test and send in worked solutions to those questions in April. We will contact the students concerned during April with further information.". If so how hard was this test?

Many thanks

no worries! i got an email from isaac physics on the 18th of may last year saying that i was being offered a place at the spc. i then needed to complete a few consent forms that they sent out (i think the deadlines for those were in june so there was no rush). i'm not completely sure but i think the online test might be a new procedure that they are implementing this year, because i didn't have to take one nor did anyone else i spoke to on the course. in any case, i just read up on it on the website and it seems as though it is only for a few selected students - maybe it's for testing the aptitude of high scorers from the same school so they can decide who will benefit most from the course (just guessing)? if you're concerned it might be worth sending an email to isaac physics, but i don't think the test would be too hard (and if it is, they are likely more interested in your thought process than whether or not you actually get the correct answers).
