Only received 1 offer in 3 months for Mech eng

So I applied end of November for Mech Eng at Imperial, UCL, Bath Bristol and Kings (General Engineering). I received an offer from Kings within a week, but since then I've been placed on hold by Bristol and application read by Bath for over a month. I was predicted 3 A* (Math, Chemistry and Physics), got 9999988886 in GCSE and had a solid PS (one of the best in the year according to my chemistry teacher who went to imperial and was mentored by someone I know who got into Cambridge for Engineering). So I believe my application was pretty decent for the unis I applied for apart from maybe Imperial, but now I don't even know if I will get UCL. I'm just feeling demotivated now because I have no end goal to revise/work for and I really do not want to take a gap year.

Stop worrying - you have applied to competitive Unis and they get thousands of applications, and it takes them months to read them all. They'll get to you in time.

Try to keep optimistic. They’ll probably reply to you in march. A lot of my classmates applied to Bath last year, and they received their offers late march.

Bath is notorious for late offers.
Hi there,

Congratulations on your offer from King's and its fab to hear you've also applied to Bath. I know how frustrating and annoying it is waiting on offers from unis. Here at Bath we have a very rigorous process for reading applications and like other unis we consider a broad range of factors, and this naturally takes time.

We will get back to you with your decisions by late April, and so will your other unis. But for now, please don't worry - no news is good news because how long you wait for your offer has no bearing on how strong your application is 🙂

Hope this helps and best of luck with your other offers!

Hi, I applied in October for engineering (99999998888 GCSEs), 4 A*s predicted at A-level (Maths, FM, Physics, DT). Rejected Cambridge and Imperial, offers Bath and Durham, on hold for Bristol - so just think it is very competitive and the fact that you have not heard back yet does not mean you will be rejected. good luck!

What was your feedback with imperial and Cambridge. How can they reject you with such amazing GCSEs and a levels. I got 776655552 and I got an offer at imperial!!

4 days ago wtf feels like yesterday.
time flys.

Maths and science how every I am resitting English to bump my grade up this may
These unis probably wait until the 29th Jan UCAS deadline before reviewing applications, so don't worry. I'd say most offers will be made in mid-March.

Hi,
I understand how frustrating the waiting process can be, especially after putting in so much effort. Your application is strong, and being placed on hold or having a delay doesn't reflect negatively on your potential. Sometimes universities take time to make decisions due to high competition or internal processes. I remember my offer from bath took multiple months to come through and I applied in October so be patient.
Hope this helps and you get a response soon

Hey I’m having an interview for imperial aero, do you have any suggestions that you can share with me? Also how was the interview like?

Sure

Did you sit an admissions test? If so, what one and what score did you get

Hi,
I would not begin to worry just yet. Different Universities take different amounts of time to respond to offers like this and the length of time varies based on a number of different factors such as the size of the admissions team and the number of applications received at the same time as yours. When i applied to University, one of my offers took 2 months to be accepted so don't panic. Your grades and qualifications look strong and it is not at the UCAS deadline for universities to make offers yet so I hope you can use that and your offer from Kings to provide the motivation you need to really excel in your final exams.
Hope this helps and best of luck

I applied mid October and didn't hear back from all my unis until February lol. Competitve universities (especially London unis) receive a lot of applications so they will take a while. Don't worry!
