i have a PASSION for neuroscience, but i want to work with people and in order to do that i have to have an MD. and with that MD i can also do what ive always wanted which is being a surgeon.. whereas i only do neuroscience im not stuck but its a long long journey.
HERE IS THE CATCH !
i am 18, resitting my a levels (i had undiagnosed and unmedicated adhd and rlly struggled with the transition) i haven’t completed my a levels before, but i did sit my AS (i did bio, chem, and eng lang) and now im doing bio, chem, maths. i love it. im doing great. but i didnt join the SEREN programme, meaning i miss out on opportunities for SEREN only. i qualify for a contextual and special consideration because of my situation but im not sure if its worth trying to get into a good medicine degree with where i am right now. i’m predicted A’s (i could SO get A*). i got a few As and and in GCSE, lowest being a C in two subjects (art and h&sc.. so i don’t care but universities might) i got an A in maths and an A in eng lang in GCSE. also an A in a level eng lang
i guess what im asking is; should i lose hope ? or should i just try extra hard ? what can i do in the middle of my AS to improve my chances ?
