Doctoral Loans for Resident of Scotland

I am a UK national and I am normally resident in Scotland; am I eligible for doctoral loans for PhD programmes in England?

If your normal residency in Scotland, you would need to contact SAAS regarding finance.

Hi Claire,

Thanks but SAAS does not provide funding for doctoral study. Are Scottish residents not eligible for English Doctoral Loans? I was confused because I noticed that Irish Students and EU students are eligible for English Doctoral Loans. So Scottish students are specifically not part of this programme?

If you live in Scotland normally, you can't apply to us for finance. If SAAS don't offer finance for your course, then you would be best speaking to your university you wish to study with, to see if they know of alternative funding options.
