Primary education course at MMU

So I’m gonna go this September and wondering what it’s like, I know it’s 3 days a week but I have to take the train and I’m not much of a city person and kinda scared to walk out in the dark and considering it’s Manchester it’s not the safest. Anyone doing the course just tell me what it’s like, how long the lectures are what times they usually are and also about placement.

Heyyy I’m from the Manchester area and the best advice i have on staying safe is probably avoiding piccadilly gardens, stuff usually happens there but it’s not really close to MMU so you’ll be okay. My first choice is MMU this year, how’s a levels going?

So pleased you're going to be joining us in September. Primary Ed is as you say, 3 full days of lectures (and 2 days self-study). Confirmed timetables are usually made available a few weeks before enrolment. This is subject to change each year but currently students are either on campus Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays or Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, depending on which cohort you are in. On placement, you're expected to work Monday to Friday, 8.30-5 in your allocated school. If you're train gets into Piccadilly, there is a free bus service from there which might be worth a look: Bee Network: Free City Centre Bus Service 🙂

Heyy does your degree come with QTS? i want to be a teacher but i’m wondering if i can do a undergrad which includes QTS so i don’t have to do an extra year of a PGCSE to get qts

Hi, i’ve already picked my firm choice at Man Met for psychology but i’d still like to change it to primary education. How would I go about this? Thanks!

Hey @aminah_001

I'd suggest getting in touch with Admissions (0161 247 2474 or [email protected]) to ask if they will accept a new personal statement.

Mel 🙂
