Extenuating circumstances

I’m a year 12 students who’s suffered from allergic reactions (which have led to anaphylaxis often) I’ve already missed about 5-6 weeks of school, would that enable me to gain extenuating circumstances?

By extenuating circumstances do you mean in you application for uni or sitting exams?

In terms of exams unless you actually go into shock during an exam there’s nothing that you could get like extra time or typing instead of writing.

In terms of applications, probably yes, especially if you emphasis the effect on your studies. Even if you’re not sure it’s always worth a try. I ended up putting an illness I had been diagnosed with last June and mentioned missing school monthly meaning that my grades don’t really look good until the actual exams when I get to catch up and revise.

Ended up getting a great contextual offer from my 2nd choice uni 👌 (haven’t received any others back yet)

Thank you very much, I’m talking about my applications as my grades aren’t going to be as good as possible as I’m still undergoing my reactions (missed 3 days of school this week because of it)

Make sure that whoever is writing your reference (for your UCAS form) includes this information in your reference.

Yes! Make sure that whoever is writing your reference will mention this. Moreover, do you have any papers with confirmation from your doctor/hospital? If not, then ask them politely and pass to admissions in the special note (depending on uni it can be UCAS, special form, e-mail). Admissions do take it serious and can be life-saver! But unfortunately, some people lie about it, so always better to have a good proof

As above, ensure that your school includes this in the UCAS reference section.
Its also worth checking with each of your intended Unis if they need a specific form completed and sent directly to them - example from Bristol : Extenuating circumstances | Study at Bristol | University of Bristol

Just remember that this wont guarantee you an offer - or that you would be automatically accepted in August regardless of achieved grades.
