I don't think you need to resit the A* course

It depends how old you are. I am very confused because over a period of time you've talked about english at university, and then numeracy and then now this?

Would you be able to explain your situation a bit? What are you currently studying for? What are your aimse etc?

Well in the middle of my gcses and been told that I have myself to blame and then in this workskills course and then doing alevels and then to uni where I completed foundation and first year english but halfway through it where I struggled with assignments (I told u on other forums) and now I'm going adult education my mom *encouraged me to go*
You can likely resit failed Maths & English GCSEs at your local college for free if you're over 19.

For anything else, you'd have to study and resit privately at your own expense.

Privately = studying at home on your own, then paying to sit the exam at a private exam centre

If you're struggling with maths, have you considered functional skills maths?
Did you pass english language gcse?

Yeah, since you're "literate" in the government's eyes, you won't be able to resit any English qualifications for free. You'd have to pay or do it privately (which PinkMobilePhone has explained, but again you'd have to pay).

For maths, it might be worth speaking with SENCO to see if they can support you to get a functional skills qualification in maths

Is it possible for you to do a level 2 one as well? It would be equivalent to a pass in GCSE

Okay so we've now clarified:

You have an English qualification (GCSE English Lang at grade 4/C)
You have a maths qualification (Functional skills level 2 // an IGCSE in maths) - you have passed at least one of these.

Is this correct?
If so, what do you want to do next?

It's not possible to retake any other GCSEs without paying, because they're not "core" and you're literate+numerate in the government's eyes.
A'levels require a good standard from a range of GCSEs (I've never seen anything below a 5 (or ~B), and usually it's a grade 6 or 7 (or even 8/9 for some A'level subjects) to have that subject for A'level. Unfortunately it doesn't seem realistic to go down this route. :frown:

You say you're in Adult education. What are you doing now? What would you like to do afterwards? Any careers ideas?

It's possible but you'd have to pay and it's quite expensive to take a lot of them. 10 GCSEs would be closer to £600.
A typical example of fees are here.

You don't have to take the traditional route to become a teacher. I think, given your circumstances, it may be best to speak to the careers advisor in your school for a plan of action.
