What does IDO assessment mean?

I’ve applied for an undergraduate degree at NTU and I’m not sure what IDO stands for or means…it was on my application status

I don't, I'm afraid. Sorry.

I would guess that "IDO assessment" involves assessing those aspects of your application which are specific to your status as an international student. So that might be visa requirements, English language requirements, etc. - but I'm just guessing.
Hi @mamakarma_,
It's great to hear you've applied to study with us!

Other posters here are correct, IDO stands for International Development Office, or our International team. Their role in applications is often assessing any International or non-UK qualifications, as well as providing our Admissions team with specialist knowledge on applications from international students. The statuses may be 'IDO Assessment' or 'Following IDO Assessment' to help give more information about the stage of your application. Usually these stages can take a few weeks, so you may be hearing back from our Admissions team soon, however you can always speak to our Admissions team directly for a full update on your application.

I hope this helps, do let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks a lot for this reply, my own admission status is showing Pending IDO Assessment, I have also uploaded the data page of my international passport, in case it is needed. Does my own Pending IDO Assessment status mean something different? Do I have to do anything more?

Hi @Obiomalazarus,

There shouldn't be anything specific you'll need to do for the moment, this status is just to let you know that we're sending your information to our International team to review. Typically your status will change to 'IDO Assessment' and 'Following IDO Assessment' over the coming days as your application moves through this process, and, if we need any additional information our Admissions team will be in touch to let you know!
