GCSE edexcel literature

I’ve been struggling finding good quotes that link to all the themes of Macbeth, An inspector calls , Christmas carol and all the poems
If you have any advice on how to gather quotes or if you have quotes you used which got you high grades it would be much appreciated

Hello, Ahmad
I know that Finding and memorising high-level quotes can feel overwhelming, but focusing on short, powerful quotes that link to multiple themes will help you maximise your marks. Here are some Grade 9 quotes I used and you can too :

Macbeth
Ambition & Power: “Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires.” (Macbeth)
Guilt & Madness: “O, full of scorpions is my mind, dear wife!” (Macbeth)
Fate & Supernatural: “All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Glamis! Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor! Hail to thee, that shalt be king hereafter!” (Witches)

An Inspector Calls
Social Responsibility: “We don’t live alone. We are members of one body. We are responsible for each other.” (Inspector Goole)
Class & Inequality: “Girls of that class” (Mrs Birling)
Guilt & Morality: “The girl’s dead and we all helped to kill her.” (Eric)

A Christmas Carol
Redemption & Change: “I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.” (Scrooge)
Greed & Social Responsibility: “Mankind was my business.” (Marley’s Ghost)
Poverty & Inequality: “Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?” (Scrooge)
Poetry (Power & Conflict Themes)
Ozymandias (Power & Corruption): “Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!”
Exposure (Suffering & War): “But nothing happens.”
The Prelude (Nature’s Power): “A huge peak, black and huge… upreared its head.”
How to Learn and Use Quotes Effectively:
Choose key quotes that link to multiple themes e.g., "We are members of one body" (An Inspector Calls)

Make sure to covers social responsibility, class, and morality.
Understand the meaning and grade 9 techniques is really helpful. Examiners will reward deep detailed analysis, so consider how quote’s language, structure, and context support your argument.
Personally I used flashcards or mind maps and wrote my quote on one side and key themes, techniques, and context on the other , I would review it everyday even if it’s not for 20 minutes a day. I find that really helpful especially for the long term memory .
