Will my GCSEs affect my university chances?

Hello,

I got 888876664 at GCSE - (4 in Spanish), and I am predicted A*A*A at A-Level.

Will my GCSE results affect my application to top universities/Ivy League?

I figured it would be helpful to give a breakdown of my GCSEs. I would like to study Law at University, and my A-Levels are English Lit, History and Philosophy.

8 - English Lit
8 - English Language
8 - Global Perspectives
8 - Theatre Studies
7 - Sport Science
66 - Double science
6 - Maths
4 - Spanish

Should be fine for most courses at most unis.

Hi there!

I can say with confidence that those grades would NOT impact your application to any University.

The minimum requirements for any Uni in the UK are a 4 in Maths and English. There are some RG Unis that require slightly higher requirements, usually up to a 6 for Maths and English - some will require a 7 but I have only really seen that for courses like medicine/dentistry.

Some RG Unis will require a higher grade in the subjects relevant to your University subject - in the case of Law this would probably be English, which would not change your application in any way.

Well done on those grades! Just focus on your A-level grades now, and try to make your personal statement the best it can be:smile:

Hope this helps!

Hey I was just wondering how did you get fantastic a level predictions. I thought AS offical exams contribute to predicted a level grades or something like end of years or have you done Jan/feb mocks??
