Nottingham vet school 2025

Hello, I was wondering whether Nottingham vet school allow you to take your dog with you? Obviously this will depend on accommodation etc but would you be allowed to bring it with you and use it as a teaching dog? Thank you

This is a question for the university itself as even if they did/didn’t allow this in previous years it may have changed. Call their admissions team or send them an email; they won’t mind - that’s what they are there for

The halls on campus don’t allow pets and the teaching dogs are staff dogs, last I knew they weren’t allowed to be students’ dogs. It might be possible to bring a dog if you lived off campus though, some houses allow them so me and quite a lot of my friends have brought dogs up to uni either for short periods or longer term

That’s so great to know, thank you! I’m a mature student and have had my dog for a few years now so I definitely want to live off campus and bring her. I’ll be in Nottingham for the vet offer holder day on 26th March and was hoping to see some places to live while I was there. Do you happen to know the names of the places that allow dogs?

There’s not anywhere specific as the accommodation off campus is just privately owned houses, mostly let as HMOs so you’d have to have a look for adverts - it’ll also depend on if you’re looking for somewhere by yourself as I’d say the majority of it is for groups but you do see single rooms pop up sometimes either in flats or people looking for an extra housemate to fill a 4/5 bed. There’s a fb group called SB campus house hunting where a lot of things are advertised and you can look on google for adverts on places like rightmove too
