nah. psychics/medium just throw out general statements, waiting for something to stick and hoping for you to fill in the gaps.

Ian Rowlands The Full Facts About Cold Reading is a great book.
It's a combination of techniques that so called psychics use. Encouraging the audience in the right way before the reading, Barnum statements, forking, rainbow ruses, fine flattery, sugar lumps, Jacques statements, observation, cheating etc etc etc.
There's an amusing example of cheating revealed at the end of the Derren Brown episode in Liverpool.

There is some skill and experience involved in being a good "psychic".
It's a fascinating subject, delving into the techniques that "psychics" use.

One thing to bear in mind is that it's more difficult to convince someone that they've been fooled than to fool them in the first place.
