My Student Community - University of Staffordshire
hi everyone!! Thought it would be nice to talk about what my student community is like at University of Staffordshire 
Hopefully this gives you an idea of what student life can be like and any questions dont be afraid to ask.
Coming to uni, I was so nervous with joining societies that I didn’t even join one until my second-year whoops. As an Esports student, I was mainly engaged with the extra events we ran as a course which helped with my confidence and just my university enjoyment so much. I’m now part of the Cheerleading society which is something I NEVER thought I would do but hey look at me now. There's literally so many societies that there's bound to be something that connects with you personally so pls give them a go.
I gave literally everything a go during 2nd year and now I'm hosting shows for the uni, i can say hello to loads of people on campus and just have a nice vibe wherever I go.
Would I recommend joining one?
100% and I couldn’t recommend joining a society enough, it’s boosted my mood so much and it’s gave me a whole new set of friends from a multitude of backgrounds. Societies are there to give you alternatives to just studying your course and that’s helped me enjoy my course so much more as I don’t really get burnt out. There’s also so many different ones for each interest like I’m part of Cheerleading and Valorant?? What!??!
Being in so many different areas of university has really helped me find my own niches and celebrate myself authentically, literally have so much fun with everything university related now which is very different compared to first year me. It’s like having loads of different friend groups 😊
Obviously, you’ll have issues with some people but that’s life, part of university is learning how to deal with things like that so it’s inevitable. Just do what makes you happy !
