Psych is actually the easiest lol cause ANY work experience and volunteering you do involves observing human behaviour. That's what your personal statement should reflect. What work you did and how it influenced your interest in psychology. This can even link to being in the student council, helping the juniors etc because it all not only involves leadership experience but gives you a chance to again reflect on your experiences dealing with human behaviour in group dynamics. I applied to 5 Ucas undergrad BSc psychology course and got offers from all of them.

@Ely an air
Hello, I did my MSc in Psychology (following a Sociology degree)

Remember that a personal statement is also about whether you would be a great student or not so you need to demonstrate some transferable skills i.e. from employment or volunteering (I worked in Asda and used that)

This might include;
working to deadlines
team work
communication skills
attention to detail

Here is a useful UCAS video on writing a personal statement https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8hFkMAjW-I

Hello @Ely an air,

When I wrote my personal statement, I made sure to talk about transferable skills I gained through things such as volunteering, part time jobs, clubs, college experiences, etc. I also discussed why I am interested in psychology and any super-curricular activities that I did. The University of Cambridge has some good ideas for super-curricular activities here. UCAS has also written an article for things to include in a psychology personal statement here.

Hope this helped, and if you have any other questions, let me know!

Yeah, exactly! Psych is one of those subjects where almost any experience can be relevant if you frame it right. Whether it’s volunteering, work experience, or even just.There are hotlines and support groups for those struggling site being involved in student council, it all ties back to understanding human behavior, group dynamics, and leadership.
