Can Scotish Solicitor do practice in England without anu further qualifications ?

I am a pakistani law student with more then 10 years of experience. I moved to England and now i want to be a solicitor but i am confused from where i should do it. From Birmingham or from Glasgow. Because some of my friends says law from Scotland is easy and less expensive ??

The tuition fees for both Glasgow and Birmingham as an international law student are roughly the same; you need to check on their websites, but I think Glasgow's for grad entry is more than Birmingham. Glasgow is in the top 10 for law in the UK - so it ranks higher than Birmingham. Have you applied and been made offers for both universities? Law is hard - 2 different universities will teach it differently, but ultimately it is a very difficult degree and doing it in a different place doesn't change that.
For Glasgow, if you would like to practice in England, then you would apply for Common Law, otherwise you'd apply for Scots Law (to practice in Scotland). For Birmingham, they offer Common Law, where you can practice in England after completing this.
Hope this helps 🙂

If you qualify in Scotland, you cannot practise law in England and Wales without undertaking a conversion process. The same is true if you qualify in England and Wales and wish to practise in Scotland.
