Career change/ whole new university path.

Hello, as the title suggests i've been feeling recently that i want more from life than my plan of becoming a history teacher, i've always been a theatre kid and always loved acting, and recently i've been feeling this strong urge to quit my A levels and just completely do a 180 and go back to school for another two years get an acting diploma and apply to university again. Since i was 8 i was told id be successful in acting and that i should never give it up but Im 18 about to turn 19, applied and got offers from every single university i applied to and am looking on going to a Russell group university. Im a well achieving student but i feel like my heart isn't in college anymore. Has anyone else felt this? any advice would be appreciated.

Im just scared about failing and not having a backup plan, my time in school was hard and doing my a levels has helped me feel academically validated, i guess i'm just scared of rejection and redirection.

Hey,
It’s totally okay to feel like this, I’m currently pursuing dentistry but sometimes, I get the urge to quit and solely devote myself to my passion for dressmaking. I think part of being human is to be so full of life that you want to experience life to its fullest and for me part of that is fashion and for you it’s acting. I love fashion the way you love acting but I also love studying & looking after others, however, I have never convinced myself I couldn’t do both at the same time and that’s something you should tell yourself too. We’re so free to do whatever we want and naturally we will find ourselves where we should be. I think this piece of advice is so valuable especially to us young people because of how much of life we are yet to experience that we don’t understand how much time is waiting ahead of us. Theres really no such thing as too late and with the time we have left (a lot) don’t expect yourself to always be a history teacher/pursue one career path. Whether you like it or not, life WILL take its turn and you will find yourself changing ur mind and doing something that u never thought you’d do today.
When I worry that I’m not pursing the right things, I remind myself of a 50 year old dentist that used to mentor me, this man rlly changed my perspective when he told me that he decided to redo university to become a lawyer in his mid 30s btw by the time he studied law, this guy was already a father of two and he used to own a dental practice. It’s insane how much time we have in our life.
Look to wrap this up, just take it easy because you are in the exact place you are supposed to be no matter how much u worry about it💗

If you want to be an Actor, go to Drama School.
Finish your A levels, and apply in a gap-year.
Short courses like these would be a good preparation :
Short Courses | London academy of music & dramatic art (LAMDA)
Summer Short Courses | The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama
