Medicine after pharmacy?

well i did really bad on my A-levels (below a B) and currently studying pharmacy with foundation year. I really want to do medicine and I though if I took a gap year to resit none would accept me because of my initial a level grades and because a lot of them dont want resits. Did I make a bad decision studying another degree? especially pharmacy as many people diss this carreer and pharmacist regret choosing it and idk..I could apply post graduate med?

You could apply to graduate entry medicine once the course you are on is finished. I think it would also be worth it to ask yourself if medicine would really be the career for yourself, it is far harder than A-levels which is why minimum A's are required to get onto the course in the first place. Not to say you can't, just if you don't like studying medicine is most definitely not the career for you.

What do you think prevented you from getting your target grades the first time round?

Hi Userr456,

I'm so sorry you didn't do well on your A-levels.

Studying pharmacy was a great & wise decision honestly. Once you complete your pharmacy course, you can go onto graduate medicine. There are universities which accept pharmacy students on medical courses like the University of Brighton for example.

If you want to redo your A-levels I suppose you could do that, but you're on a pharmacy course so I'm not too sure it would be a good idea. Pharmacy students can do medicine after their course though.

Perhaps it would help if you asked a few medical schools for some advice or your university if they have a medical course.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

A long time for something that they might not end up liking all that much.

I think its the only career I see my self in and working on. I would love to have the knowledge learnt in medical school and thats what makes me still want to do it. I think a job in the hospital would be a ideal to me so idk what other professions would be good to do instead. I liked chem so thats why I chose pharmacy
