Does anyone have an idea of when you hear back from the likes of Glasgow Strathclyde and Edinburgh for Business courses?
I’ve applied for humanities courses and still waiting to hear. I believe Edinburgh can be as late as April. Feel we could be missing out if we don’t hear before offer holder days.

Hey @Sjc7001 🙂 We're processing lots of applications and Business is very competitive for us. Normally the admissions teams will wait until after the UCAS deadline to start working through most of their applications (which was on 29th Jan this year so not too long ago). Generally we aim to try and have the majority decided by the end of March. Universities can take up until the end of May, but hopefully you won't need to wait as long as then. Until you hear otherwise you're still being considered 🙂
For the applicant days, these will take place in the Spring. If you don't have an offer back by the time we're running them, there are still lots of opportunities to come to campus afterwards and meet our teams. We run regular 'Visit Strathclyde' events, and walking campus tours. Will drop the link to these here: Visiting opportunities | University of Strathclyde

Hi Caitlin, is this the same for politics courses? Do the preferred/top students get offers before others?
Can I ask what you mean by Spring please for the offer holder days? I thought Spring meant March - April, and if offers are only coming out then it will be difficult to attend. Also gets too close to the exams.

Hello! Politics falls under our 'BA Humanities and Social Sciences' degree programme and this is very popular too, so it will be similar in terms of high competition which means time to make decisions can be longer.
The admissions teams will look at the whole application to make their decisions - grades achieved and subjects studying at the moment (if relevant), as well as the personal statement 🙂

The offer holder days are in April 🙂 If you receive an offer you'll hear more about these directly from your faculty. There's a couple of dates available which hopefully gives some variety for students to attend, and we've taken exam dates in to account when planning as well.
If you find you receive an offer and you're not able to attend the applicant days, get in touch with me here and I can help you plan a day to visit the University and help with any questions you need answered.

Caitlin, considering the first SQA exam is end of April, Strathclyde should really get a move on with the offers so students know what grade (if conditional) they need to work towards. Its frustrating. Glasgow sent me offers before the deadline!

Hello! I know it can feel stressful waiting to hear back from universities, but our admissions teams are working their way through applications at the moment. We receive lots of applications and unfortunately can't make offers to everyone, so it can take some time to make sure each application has fair consideration.
We normally work to a best practice guide of having decisions made by the end of March. Universities do have until mid-May to respond, but we know the exams schedule will start which is why hopefully most decisions are made prior to exam season.
