Drama set texts for a PGCE

I will be starting a drama PGCE this September and was just wondering how much notice you would get for what the set texts are that you'd be potentially be teaching/assisting with for Drama GCSE and A Level? Could this just be the case of contacting the school when you find out what your placement is?

I know a few plays but don't want to be going through studying all the plays in the specs if i'm not going to end up teaching them!

Thanks,
Henry

Yes, absolutely. When you know where your placement school is, contact them and ask about their syllabus or look it up on their school website. Many schools will have materials/resources to help with familiarising yourself with texts/plays. Hopefully you’ve have a period of observation before you begin teaching anyway so that’ll give you some time too.
