I have no idea what to do with my a levels, degree life choices

my predicted grades (gcse) are bio-9chem-8phys-9maths-9dt-8business-8eng lang-7eng lit-7history-8science is very natural to me its easy but that makes it boring. same with maths, I don't find it a challenge. I'm falling more in love with English all the time but I really don't think I'll do as good as I shouldI can't decide weather I go lazy and continue with science or challenge myself with English and I have no carrer ideas and have to plan some work exp so any advice is very good )thanks

As A Levels have alot of independent study, it's important to choose subjects you will enjoy and want to study, especially choosing at least one subject you enjoy. If English is what you enjoy then I'd really recommend taking it. I'm sure you'd be fine, a 7 is still amazing! I got a 7/7 for science and 6 in geography at gcse and so was worried about taking environmental science at a level, but I ended up with an A. If it's a subject you enjoy you probably are more likely to do well as you will put in the time to study

As for careers, what things do you enjoy? What skills do you feel you have, like writing, communicating clearly, helping people, independent working etc. Have you looked at careers with science and felt any of them suit you and is something you'd enjoy? There's a test on the NCS website you can take that tells you what careers may suit you. If you do decide on English, it can lead to careers in journalism, editing and publishing, teaching, even business communications, script writing etc. It has alot of options

Link to the national careers service website: https://nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/ where you can take a skills assessment and explore career options

This website also shows the careers English can lead to: https://www.prospects.ac.uk/careers-advice/what-can-i-do-with-my-degree/english

I'd suggest doing what you enjoy. You have done well in all your subjects, so pick the ones you are most motivated to continue working at even outside of lessons and that you feel you enjoy studying the most - that usually translates to better motivation in actually working on the subject, and also better results in the end due to that!

Bear in mind that most graduates don't go into jobs related to their degree subject, and most graduate schemes and careers otherwise don't care what subject you studied at degree level. Also research has found that STEM and non-STEM graduates have equivalent career outcomes over the medium term (within 10 years of graduation): https://figshare.le.ac.uk/articles/report/The_employment_trajectories_of_Science_Technology_Engineering_and_Mathematics_graduates/10234421

I'd say think about what you like doing/how you want to make a difference for careers, and also bear in mind that STEM gets more interesting at A level. I do bio, chem, maths and English at A level and I enjoy them all more than GCSE

If you dont have any career ideas - just do what I did. Just make a list and eliminate them. Are you more of a logical person like physics and maths or more of an essay person like English and history? Are you more creative like DT or do you prefer real life eg business?
Think about which industries you DO NOT want to work in and go backwards.
